This unfinished Singspiel, K. 344, by the young 24 year-old Mozart was originally titled "Das Serail" (The Seraglio... not to be conufsed with his later work, The Abduction from the Seraglio, K. 384!) The score would be sold by Constanze, his widow, in 1799 and later titled "Zaide". Probably the best known music from it is the soprano aria, "Ruhe sanft, mein holdes Leben" from Act I (at approx: 20'17").
The featured singers are Gré Brouwenstijn, Peter Pears, Bruce Boyce, Owen Brannigan, and Alexander Young. Harry Blech conducts the London Mozart Players. 1952.
